People in Hampton Roads love their trucks.  But one thing truck lovers may not love so much about their trucks is how fuel inefficient some older trucks are.  Trucks like the Ram have gotten better and better in terms of fuel economy for the last several years, and now have fuel economy ratings similar to sedans of yesteryear.  Yet, you may be holding out for a truck that’s even more fuel efficient.  If you are, you’re wait is almost over because Ram has you covered.  The current line-up of Ram trucks will even become more efficient in 2013.  That’s when Chrysler introduces an all-new powertrain for the Ram 1500, showcasing an industry-first 8 speed automatic transmission mated to Chrysler’s 3.6L V6 engine.  Chrysler expects the 2013 Ram 1500 equipped with this combination to handily beat both Ford and GM in terms of fuel economy.  Based on EPA testing, the 2013 Ram 1500 V6 will get 17/25 MPG (city/highway, beating Ford F150s and Chevrolet Silverados equipped with V6 engines (Ford:  17/23, Chevrolet:  15/20).
