Chrysler Blog – A Chrysler Road Trip Across Pure Michigan.

Have you ever had aspirations to appear in the next viral video, racking up the views on YouTube?

For those who answered yes, your opportunity is coming next week. And Chrysler Group is providing the ride to make it happen.

The Chrysler brand and Pure Michigan have teamed up to work with Status Creative on the media firm’s next big project. The premise is simple, but daunting. Jeff Barrett and Rob Bliss – Status Creative’s Michigan-born co-founders – will be venturing on a road trip across the Great Lakes State from August 19-26. Things become complicated, however, when the trip’s full agenda lasts for one week and includes 50 Michigan cities. The two media makers hope to tell the story of what Michigan has to offer in the form of an inspiring video, by using footage they will capture along their adventure.

The Chrysler brand’s assistance comes in the form of the vehicle used for the trip. Jeff and Rob will be traveling across Michigan in a red 2012 Chrysler 200-S. As Jeff puts it, “because it’s a road trip, we need a great vehicle for it. Chrysler, with their ‘Imported from Detroit’ message and commitment to Michigan, is a perfect partner. Plus, the 200-S is built here in Sterling Heights.”

Those who peruse YouTube videos may remember Status Creative’s most recent Michigan-centric, viral hit. In May 2011, the firm produced a lip-dub video in Grand Rapids, Michigan that involved 5,000 people. The 10-minute video features Don McLean’s classic song “American Pie” as the camera passes through the western Michigan city. In fact, the video was so well made that it won the award for “Best Use of Video in Social Media” from PR Newswire.

At this point, you’re probably wondering how you can be a part of this summer’s video project. Our best recommendation would be to follow Jeff Barrett on Twitter @BarrettAll along with the hashtag #PureMichigan. Jeff will post updates regarding where interested individuals may show up and contribute.

At the very least, you’ll be able to see the Chrysler 200-S that’s helping complete the journey.
