Chrysler Group, the historical leader in the minivan segment, trumped the competition once again in 2010. The Dodge Grand Caravan was the most popular minivan in the world last year, followed closely by the Chrysler Town & Country. Additionally, the Chrysler Town & Country claimed the top spot in the U.S.
In addition to its strong U.S. showing (see table below), the Grand Caravan was a very strong presence for Chrysler Canada in 2010 with 55,306 units sold — making it the #3 selling vehicle overall in the country.
For 2011, the Grand Caravan has a new powertrain that provides more horsepower and torque without sacrificing fuel economy. Other changes include: a significant suspension overhaul and new exterior and interior styling
The Chrysler Town & Country minivan led Chrysler Brand sales for 2010, and was the second best-selling vehicle for the entire company.
The new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country was designed with more than 40 standard safety and technology features, including SafetyTec™, which provides industry-leading features including ParkView® rear backup camera, Blind-spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Path detection.
