Phil Jansen, Chief Engineer of Jeep Grand Cherokee, discusses the design and engineering of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The body structure and suspension have been modified for a smoother ride and better handling.
Additionally, a new cast iron engine improves fuel efficiency by 8 percent and now delivers 290 horsepower, a 38 percent improvement over the 2010 model.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 engine offers the performance of a V8.
The 4×4 gets 22 miles per gallon on the highway, while the 4×2 gets 23. These levels of performance are consistent with competitors who only have front-wheel drive capability, and not nearly the capabilities of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The 2011 models also comes with a significantly stronger safety cage and 45 safety and security features.
