When designers started work on the 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty Trucks, they used the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Light Duty Truck as their canvas.
But they ran into a few challenges when it came to accommodating the new design with the legendary 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine, which requires a very specific cooling envelope. Turning the challenge into an opportunity, the engineers and designers created a larger grille, and as a result, a larger, taller hood that reinforces the heavy duty big rig theme of the vehicle. Add the giant, all-chrome bumper and a pair of exposed tow hooks, and the end result is a truck that is both strong and stylish.
Inside, they adopted the all-new interior of the Ram 1500 trucks. By moving the shifter from the center console to the column, designers opened up a lot of room for storage. Also, they added heated seats and a steering wheel to warm the driver instantly.
The Ram Heavy Duty Truck is a tough work truck on the outside, and a comfy workplace on the inside.
